We are looking for a BI Consultant (Power BI & Microsoft Fabric) with 2+ years of experience, who is passionate about transforming data into actionable insights and delivering modern, end-to-end analytics solutions for enterprise clients.
The Role
As a BI Consultant at WITSIDE, you will:
- Design, develop, and implement end-to-end Power BI solutions within Microsoft Fabric.
- Build and maintain semantic models in DirectLake/DirectQuery/Import mode, including measures, relationships, and performance optimization.
- Implement data transformations using Power Query and Fabric dataflows when needed.
- Collaborate with clients to gather requirements and translate them into effective analytical solutions.
- Work closely with Data Engineers to integrate semantic models with Fabric Lakehouse and Warehouse layers.
- Design interactive dashboards and data visualizations aligned with business KPIs.
- Maintain and optimize existing BI applications for performance and usability.
- Ensure data accuracy, consistency, and governance across the reporting layer.
- Troubleshoot and resolve issues related to data models, performance, and connectivity.
- Stay updated with the latest trends and advancements in business intelligence tools and practices.
- Train and support clients’ end-users to maximize their use of BI platforms.
- Assist in presales activities and client proposals.
Qualifications and Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Data Science, or a related field.
- 2+ years of experience as a BI Consultant or similar role, preferably in a consulting environment.
- Strong expertise in Power BI, including Power Query, semantic modeling, and DAX development.
- Hands-on experience in designing dimensional data models (star schema).
- Experience working with Microsoft Fabric (Lakehouse/Warehouse connectivity, DirectLake, Semantic Model integration).
- Strong SQL skills and solid understanding of data modeling principles.
- Exposure to SAP-related reporting scenarios is a plus.
- Understanding Lakehouse architecture and Medallion design principles (Bronze/Silver/Gold) is a plus.
- Basic experience in data engineering concepts (ETL/ELT processes, pipelines, dbt exposure) is a plus.
